There are
few pubs these days without a lunch or dinner menu. But how often can
you honestly say you’re getting fresh, local, organic food of the
highest quality?
Here at The King’s Head, we believe in wholesome, hearty and traditional
English food, served with a touch of flair and a spark of imagination.
Our chef is always looking for the very best local ingredients and has
worked hard to create some very popular mainstays. Our specials board,
meanwhile, provides the ideal opportunity for him – and our regular
guests – to experiment.
Every meal matters. We not only prepare some of the best pub food in the
Cotswolds, but we also take care over the presentation and service. All
that remains is for you to select a wine from our impressive list and
soak up the atmosphere.
“Let’s
be honest. Nothing quite beats the sound of a cork being forced out of
a bottle.
Here at the Kings’ Head Inn, we’ve spent a lot of time testing
and tasting fine wines. The result is a user-friendly list which combines
the best of Europe and the New World and which we really do believe contains
something for everyone.
Customers who buy by the glass tend to opt for Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc,
which represent an excellent balance between quality and value. Delicious
Graves are also available by the glass for those who are looking for something
a little more from their wine.
One of our showcase bottles is the Chianti Classico Fonterutoli, which
has been owned and produced by the same family since 1435. It’s
a favourite of the wine critic Hugh Johnson and we hope that it becomes
one of yours too.”
