“The menu is glorious, middle-England comfort food - lamb's kidneys, Gloucester Old Spot sausages, and steak-and-ale stew”

The Saturday Telegraph

our seasonal menu

The King’s Head menu changes with the seasons, but one thing remains constant: our commitment to high-quality produce. Wherever possible, we ensure that it is both local and organic.

Our Aberdeen Angus beef – which is hung for 28 days to bring out its flavour – couldn’t come from a more traceable source. It’s the produce of Fifield House Farm and is reared by our landlord’s own uncle. Smoked meats come from Upton Farm in Burford, while A M Bailey of Evesham Vale supplies our vegetables. ‘Windrush’ organic cheese is purchased from Daylesford, while local gamekeepers also have a close relationship with The King’s Head and supply some excellent products which feature regularly on the menu.

We admit that there are pubs closer to the sea than the King’s Head. Luckily we have very reliable suppliers who can bring us the latest catches from the west country on a daily basis. Our exacting standards are always the same. If it’s to be served in our pub, it needs to be fresh and of the highest quality, yet still represent excellent value for money.

We always try to use as much Free-Range Organic and Local produce as we possibly can when making our dishes. Our beef, which is Aberdeen Angus, is sourced locally from the family farm in Fifield. Our fish is delivered daily from Cornwall and all our smoked food is from Upton Smokery in Burford.
